Best Chromebooks Prime Early Access Sale Deals
You’ll likely find a good Chromebook deal somewhere, although it’s often hard to say which Chromebook is a good value. Manufacturers appear to be offloading older Chromebooks at deep discounts, taking advantage of consumer ignorance about processor generations and support lifecycles. We’ve included the Chromebook support window in our recommendations below, which tend to span two to five years on discounted Chromebooks.

What to think about when buying a Chromebook
Generally, Chromebooks tend to fall into three categories: ultra-cheap models at around $100, which can offer solid discounts but can hide pitfalls like an inferior display; Mid-range Chromebooks from $200 to $350, the typical price; and premium Chromebooks for $500 or more. These expensive ones are essentially PC laptops with Google’s Chrome OS on top and can be pretty expensive. Our story on laptops versus Chromebooks can help you decide, as can our 2022 recommendations for the best Chromebook.
We usually suggest you buy a Chromebook with a resolution of 1080p or higher, but 768p screens can work fine, especially on smaller screens. Consider a USB-C dongle to connect to an external monitor. An Intel Core chip is pretty much a guarantee of solid performance, but it can also be more expensive. Celerons are much more common, and so are Snapdragon or Arm chips.
